La Rosa Six-Week Childbirth Education Series
La Rosa Six-Week Childbirth Education Series offers a dynamic, ever-evolving curriculum formulated to meet the unique needs of expecting families throughout the Inland Empire. Sessions are convenient for working families and scheduled once weekly, in the evening, for two hours.
Taught by student midwives, classes relay practical information based on our work towards becoming licensed, medical professionals as well as our extensive experience attending births and supporting families as they navigate their reproductive choices.
The series aims to help you:
Understand the basics and physiology of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
Cope using a variety of comfort measures for labor.
Learn and establish your preferences as you prepare for a home, birth center or hospital birth!
Gain the tools to confidently step into your new role as a parent.
Harness community among fellow birthing families and birthworkers in your area.
Overall, we hope to facilitate the exploration of your options, your rights and - most importantly - your power as a birthing person!
We welcome all bodies, all genders, all sexualities and all family configurations openly and with love!

CD, CLEC (she/they) is a mother, educator, full-spectrum doula and student midwife serving San Diego County and the Inland Empire. Her work centers on providing access, education and culturally competent support. She began serving birthing families shortly after her first child was born in 2014. Since then, she has continued her education - gaining certifications as a birth/postpartum doula and lactation educator/counselor. She also offers placenta encapsulation and various herbal remedies. Julie enjoys fusing her love of native, California plants and birth work. In her free time, she is often tending to her plants, reading or snuggling her children.
Ana Ruiz is a doula, currently
in her second year
Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery. She believes she has not only chosen Midwifery but that it has chosen her! Midwifery is not only a strong calling but has also been passed on to Ana by her grandmother who was a Partera (Midwife) in her hometown of Zacatecas, Mexico and served the women of her community wholeheartedly. She hopes to honor her heritage and values by supporting expecting families with the most passionate care possible!
